This is why we test all of our earrings to confirm that they pass the EU Nickel Directive of releasing less than 0.5 micrograms of nickel per square centimetre per week for fixed skin contact, and 0.3 for through skin contact. Cubic Zirconia is harder than the natural mineral and is usually clear of colour. But because it is manufactured it can easily be coloured into many wonderful shades.
